Slow starts have become a trend for the Saline Field Hockey team this season. While the girls are often able to prevent or recover any damage in the first half of the game, closer match ups become a struggle. This was true of the Hornets’ game against the Mercy Marlins last night. Unable to come together early in the game, the Marlins were able to take advantage of the situation, scoring in the first two minutes of play. While Saline started to mesh later in the game and control Mercy’s offensive advances, they were unable to score, ending the game 1-0 Mercy.
The Hornets will attend the Maumee Valley Invitational Fall Tournament this weekend and take on Country Day next Wednesday.
