In a weeks time, Saline’s varsity bowling squads have a combined record of 2-1-1, with the boys going 1-0-1, and the girls 1-1.
They began last week at Tecumseh, a formidable opponent for both teams. The boys tied 15-15, however, lost by total pin fall, and the girls varsity team did not fair well either, losing 1-29. For the boys, Nickolas Robison had a high game of 257, while Brandon Martin bowled a 253, Chris Graber a 222, and Cal Mayer a 222 and 212 to counter Tecumseh.
Two days after the Hornet’s struggles in Tecumseh, both boys and girls varsity bowling teams scored 23 to Skyline’s 7 points at Maplewood Lanes. Robison, who bowled a 215 and 217, Graber who had a 203, and Mayer with a 207 led Saline’s varsity bowling team to the victory. This win puts Saline at 7-4 overall, and 4-2 in the SEC Red.
Both bowling teams were scheduled to play Chelsea at home yesterday, January 31st, but will instead play Friday, February 3rd due to some scheduling complications.
Look forward to more results and possibly an article on the bowling scoring system next week.
