Senior Dylan Mulder signed with the Eastern Michigan Football Program this morning.  Mulder, a 2-year Varsity athlete, was recently voted into the 32nd Annual East-West Michigan All-Star Game by the Michigan High School Coaches Association.  While everything is looking up for Mulder right now, he claims it has been a very long process.

“I’ve been preparing for this since eighth grade,” Mulder said.  ”Contact with the college coaches didn’t start until the beginning of my junior year.”

Dylan will be walking onto Eastern’s team next year as a kick-off specialist.  If he puts in the work and earns the starting position, a full scholarship will be the next step.

Other schools interested in Mulder included the University of Toledo, Grand Valley State University, Hillsdale College, and Central Michigan University.

“I chose Eastern because I’ve always wanted to play Division One Football, and I had the best opportunity to start,”  Mulder stated.  ”It has a great business school too, and its close to home.  What more can you ask for?  I’m excited to continue what I love doing at the next level and to play in front of a bigger audience.  The atmosphere will be great.”

While the journey has been long and painful, the old saying holds true – no pain, no gain.

“I’ve been going to camps since middle school and devoting entire summers to this.  It feels great to know it all paid off in the end.”
