This Thursday, February 9th, Saline will be hosting MHSAA team districts action with the hope of a championship for the Hornets.

This four-team meet begins at 6 PM and will begin with dual meets between Saline and rival Ann Arbor Pioneer, which should be a very competitive match. The winner will face the winner of the meet between Ypsilanti-Lincoln and Ann Arbor Huron in the finals.
Saline should be fresh coming into districts. Their last competition was Saturday, February 4th at Adrian for the SEC duals where they came in third place behind SEC powers Bedford and Tecumseh.
The Hornets had two wrestlers finish ahead of all others in their respective weight classes: Senior Ryan Boxeth (125 lbs) and junior Nate O’Sullivan (130). Saline’s third place finishers were Taylor Ticknor (112) and Jason Anthony (215), while Alex Cornelius (140) and Ryan Wellings (152) finished in fourth place.
Placing fifth was Adam Bruley (119), Doug Ayers (145), and Brandon Helle (189). Chris Slattery (160), Ryan Nagy (171), and Austin Sullivan (285) all brought home sixth place medals.
Following team districts, Saline will be traveling to Temperance-Bedford for individual districts Saturday to square off with Ann Arbor-Huron, Ann Arbor-Pioneer, Belleville, Brownstown Township-Woodhaven, Dearborn-Edsel Ford, Inkster, Lincoln Park, Monroe, Southgate Anderson, Temperance-Bedford, Wayne Memorial, Westland-John Glenn, Wyandotte-Roosevelt, and Ypsilanti-Lincoln.
This is a big week for Saline wrestling, so support your Hornets in anyway you can as they try to pin down those first place spots this week.
