The boys’ cross country season kicked off Friday with a time trial around the central campus of Saline Area Schools. This year’s annual event was a record-setting affair in terms of speed and size.

Co-captain Dylan Jennings finished first in the third-fastest time ever recorded on the three mile course. Following Jennings were Anthony Lamus, Andrew Kitto, and Grant Praschan, each a senior captain and all among the top ten times in the history of the course. Fifth for the Hornets and tenth on the all-time list was junior Sean Dew.

The trial included eighty-five finishers, the largest number of participants in the thirty+ year history of the event.

Complete results of the trial are available on the team website.

The team’s next competition will be Wednesday, August 22, when the first-year runners head to Brighton for their first competition.
