Equestrian Team Continues to Lead the District

The Saline Equestrian Team continued to do well at the second MIHA District 10 meet last weekend.
They ended up in first place with 241 points. The second place team was Grass Lake with 104 points, followed by Vandercook Lake with 87, Adrian with 86 and Onsted with 81.
Freshman Alyssa Luckhardt was the again the team high point rider with 52 points, earning five first places, a second and a fourth. She was closely followed by sophmore Elaine Schwingel with 51 points who earned five second places, a second and two thirds.
Sophmore Emily Hunter received two first places, two second places, a fourth and a fifth place in hunt seat and saddleseat.
Freshman Alexandria Kase received a first place in trail.
Sophmore Sophie Troyka earned two first places as well in hunt seat and saddleseat.
Freshman Sarah Garbinski received a third in flag race.
Katie Gilbert earned a second in saddleseat bareback and a third in saddleseat pattern.
Senior Zack Schwingel received two first places in flag race and two man relay with his sister Elaine.
The Team competes this Saturday in the last MIHA district level meet before heading off the the Region E Championships in Mason.
