On Tuesday afternoon the Blue Hornets hit the home field to host Monroe White.  The Trojans defeated the 7th Grade Hornets, but the Saline 8th graders were victorious.

In a game where Monroe scored the first and last touchdowns, the Blue 8th Grade Hornets made sure to amp up their offense just enough in between those Trojan scores pull off a win.

Only 15 seconds into the first quarter, the Trojans scored a touchdown, but failed on the 2-point conversion. The score at the end of the first quarter was 6-0.  The Hornets outscored Monroe during the second quarter. With only 29 seconds left on the clock an extremely exciting pass play, with an outstanding end-zone catch, put the Hornets in the lead 16-12.

During the third quarter the Hornets continued to stretch the lead and as the seconds ticked away Saline was ahead 32-20.

Fourth quarter action included: A 99 yard touchdown run with a successful 2-point conversion for Monroe, a Saline touchdown on a quarterback keeper, and a final touchdown scored by the Trojans.  When all was said and done the Hornets came out on top 38-34.

The score by quarters for the 7th Grade Blue Hornets:

1st Quarter:   8-8

2nd Quarter:  8-16 (Monroe in the lead)

3rd Quarter:   8-16

4th Quarter:   8-24

The Gold Hornets travel to Tecumseh this afternoon to take on the Indians.  Good luck Hornets!!
