The Varsity Football Team’s incredible season came to an end on Friday night in the MHSAA Regional Championship game.  The Hornets lost to defending Division 1 State Champs, Detroit Cass Tech.  Our Hornets played a physical game and had opportunities to win the game, but fell 21-14.  This team, under first-year head coach Joe Palka, set the school record for wins with 10, and for another first in school history, we hosted three MHSAA Playoff games in Hornet Stadium.

“At the start of the season, I didn’t expect us to be in this position. To finish 10-2, be district champs and to be hosting the regional final with Cass Tech and have a chance to win, far and away, I think we over achieved,” Coach Palka said. “I couldn’t be prouder of our players.”

“I told them they set the bar high. They created a legacy for us. In terms of overall production, they are the greatest class in Saline history,” Palka said.

Great Season Hornets!  Way to represent our school and community with class.  Keep up the high standard!
