Regional Champions

The Saline Hornets baseball team competed in the Regional Tournament at home yesterday.  In the opening game at 10:00am, they took on Lincoln Park and came away with a 1 – 0 victory.  That advanced the Hornets to the Championship game and they would have to await the game between Taylor Kennedy and Dearborn Heights.  Taylor Kennedy would outlast Dearborn Heights by the score of 3-2 and that would set up the championship game.

Saline would go up early on Taylor Kennedy and would coast the victory by the score of 3-0.  It comes back to pitching as I have said all year.  The Hornets are loaded.  To advance through Regionals and not give up a run is pretty impressive.

The Hornets advance to the Quarterfinals this Tuesday at the University of Michigan.  According to the MHSAA website game time is 6:00pm and they will take on Battle Creek Lakeview.  Good Luck to the Hornets and Coach Thiesen!
