Meet Recap

The Hornets continued their conference dominance with a 93-44 victory over Ann Arbor Pioneer to move to 2-0 on the season. Junior, Anthony DeKraker, led Saline to victories in the three races he ran. DeKraker anchored the 4×800 relay (1:56) while holding off a strong attempt from Pioneer to come back, he later ran a 4:31 1600, and a 1:59 800.

Another highlight of the day was freshman, Jacob Brunty nearly breaking the freshman record in the 400 meter dash. The record, currently held by Coach Brian Boze, was set in 1986 and Jacob finds himself just tenths of seconds away from breaking it, “He’ll get it soon!” said Coach Boze.

The Hornets are back in action as they head to Dexter for the April Showers Relays on Saturday.
