Meet Recap

The boys team continued to roll as they dismantled conference for, Monroe. Several tough time barriers were broken as Sean Duffy broke 50 seconds in the 400 (49.45) and Anthony DeKraker broke 2 minutes in the 800 (1:58.09). Sean Duffy was .15 seconds away from being only the 3rd Hornet sub 22 seconds for a 200 (Coach Brian Boze and Skyler Bowden being the other two).

The highlight of the meet came down to the last event – although the meet was already won by Saline. The 4×400 Relay came down to a strategic switch by the coaches as Sean Duffy flipped into the #3 spot to try and make up some ground on the Monroe team out-in-front. Duffy delivered and handed off to Win Walker with a small lead that evaporated quickly, however, Win was able to keep the Monroe runner from passing him – forcing him to run longer on the curve. Once Win came into the final 100 meters he had held on long enough that he was able to coast across the line for a nice victory to cap the night.

The Hornets will travel to Jackson and Whitmore Lake on Friday for their next competition.
