Athlete of the Week

In the next installment of the “Athlete of the Week”, this young man certainly has the prototypical resume to have been selected.  He is the leader on his team; He is a tremendous student; He is succeeding at the highest level; and he will be competing for 2 individual championships in 2 weeks.  This week’s […]

Swimmers Exceed Expectations

The SEC Red Swim & Dive meet was held at Ann Arbor Skyline with prelims on Friday and the finals on Saturday.  In the years past Coach Brunty could put just about any swimmer in any event and the Hornets would win.  But this year has been a lot different and Coach Brunty was counting […]

SEC Prelim Results.

Today was the prelims at Ann Arbor Skyline.  Tomorrow (Saturday) are the finals and it promises to be a lot of fun.   This is where I would normally point out the great swims, highlighting the stand outs.  Unfortunately, no just kidding, but fortunately All but -2- swims were all time bests for ALL swimmers. […]

SEC Red at Skyline

Tomorrow and Saturday are big days for the Saline Swim and Dive Team.  The SEC meet is always one of the fastest league meets in the state.  It is also the last 2 chances for swimmers to obtain the “State Cuts”.  The Prelims are tomorrow starting at noon and the finals are on Saturday again […]

Boys Swimming SEC Preview

This Friday and Saturday at Ann Arbor Skyline, the SEC Red Division will hold its annual League Meet.  The meet is not scored like your ‘typical” Championship swim meet as no B relay can score ahead of any A relay even if its time is better.  And no school can have more than 4 swimmers […]

The Hornets Taper For SEC

Last night was the Saline Boys Swim and Dive Team Senior Night.  As being a part of these ceremonies is always bitter sweet, the seniors left with an unforgettable legacy.  The meet itself was against Ann Arbor Skyline (AAS) and it was AAS that came out on top 101-84.  Leading the way for the Hornets […]

Swimmers Compete at MISCA’s

The MISCA Swim Meet at Eastern Michigan is always an excellent barometer for coaches to evaluate where they are in regards to everyone else.  Coach Todd Brunty knows that he does not have the All-American swimmers, but it is a good chance to see what he does have.  Coming into the MISCA meet, Saline was […]

Hornets Step up, Fall Just Short.

2 weeks ago Saline beat Dexter in swimming 94-92. That is as close as a dual meet in the pool can be. Tonight, the Hornet swim & dive team really stepped up but AAH repays the favor and beats the Hornets 94-92. The Hornets will be at the MISCA meet this Saturday at EMU.

Saline Defeats Monroe

Tonight the Hornet Boys Varsity swim team took on the Monroe Trojans.  Our Hornets came out on top 135-49.   Starting with diving, Dakota Hurbis won with a score of 261.45, less than 8 points off of the school record.  Alex Calder was second with a score of 229.85.   The Hornets won 10 of […]

The Duel In The Pool!

In one of the best dual meets possible, Saline beat Dexter 94-92.   The meet was an absolute dead heat as the meet went into the 400 Free Relay, the last event.  In high school action, the top 3 relays score, 8 points for 1st, 4 points for 2nd and 2 points for the third.  […]
