Yesterday, the Saline Girl’s Golf Team traveled to Sandy Creek Golf Course in Monroe for their 5th SEC match.
The Varsity team defeated Monroe 167-186. Emily White led the team with a one over par 37, followed by Karla Gross with a 40, Rachel Hysong 44, and Heather Vogt finished with a 46. White began her round strong and birdied the first two holes. She only had three bogeys throughout her round which included a three putt on the last hole to finish one over par. When asked what she thought about her round, White replied, “I had a good round going! I was even going into number nine, so it was disappointing to miss my par putt on the last hole. Overall though, I am happy with how I played.”
The JV team also won their match against Monroe 231-267. Leading the team, Louisa Antonelli finished with an outstanding 44, Caitlin Swiney followed with a 59, Jenni Kohler 60, and Victoria Loader completed the round with a 68. The entire team was excited for Louisa, as this was her first time breaking 50! Coming into the clubhouse with a huge smile, everyone knew she had played great. Well done!
The Saline Varsity Team is now 5-0, and the JV Team is 4-0 in conference play. The next event is the East Lansing Invitational on Monday, September 19th.
