The Saline Girls Golf team shot a 357 at the East Lansing Invitational yesterday at Walnut Hills Golf Course. The tournament was delayed an hour due to heavy rain, and throughout the round there were scattered showers.
The girls finished 5th out of 20 teams, four strokes out of 3rd place. Karla Gross finished with an 82 followed by Emily White with 84, Rachel Hysong shot a 91, and Heather Vogt completed the round with a 100. Gross and White finished 7th and 10th individually in the tournament. Saline finished ahead of several teams that had beaten them earlier in the season. This was encouraging for the team, showing their capability to play competitively in the field even with the tough playing conditions.
Saline continues on with SEC play today with a home match at Lake Forest against Tecumseh and Ann Arbor Pioneer.
