The MS teams traveled to Ypsilanti to take on the new Ypsilanti Community MS program. They are growing and rebuilding and unfortunately could not field a large team. Saline was happy to help out where they could and in the end, Saline would win easily.

The Hornets middle school track team traveled to Pinckney for the Pinckney Invitational on Friday May 2nd. They were met with some great competition and a fun, nicely run meet. The Hornets were edged out by Hartland for runner up on the boys side and a 3rd place finish in the girls.

Athletes with outstanding performances.
Jameson Swanson – Participating on two winning relays, running a 25.7 for his 200 leg on the sprint medley relay, a 12.9 while anchoring the 4×100 and a PR of 5’2″ in the high jump.
Ryan Liebert – Jumping over 14′ in the long jump, Ryan then brought his wheels to the track. Running the 3rd leg of the 4×200 Ryan split a 24.3, the fastest of the day and on the team this season, shortly after he was on the winning Co-Ed 4×100, splitting a 10.6, another PR and team best.
Ryan Estrada – Ryan PR’d in the shot (Stats unavailable) and ran on the shot put relay. He improved his lead off leg by 2.6 seconds running a 17.4.
Adam Whitton – Running the open 800 Adam took the field in a 2:34 PR by 6 seconds.
Derek Liemohn – Starting his events with a 2:24 800 split on the winning 4×800, Derek then went on to pace the Distance Medley Relay towards victory with a 2:28 800, finally wrapping up his day with a PR leading off the 1st place 4×400 in a 58.9.
Nora Udrys – Stepping up to hurdle this past week Nora has done a nice job. On the 4×55 Shuttle Hurdle Relay she split a 12.0
Becky Cantrell – Like her teammate Adam Whitton, Becky took the Open 800 by storm winning the event in a PR of 2:49. Besting her previous 800’s by 18 seconds!
Angel Douglas – Angel had a PR in the shot, throwing over 27′.
Mallory Castor – A steady performer this track season Mallory kept at it in Pinckney. She was the 2nd leg on the winning 4×800 with a time of 2:49, next up was her lead off 800 run of 2:49 in the Distance Medley Relay, ending her afternoon with a 2nd leg split of 75.3 on the 1st place 4×400.
Kristina Kowalchik – Leading off the Sprint Medley with a 100 split of 15.2, then onto the 4×200 with a 2nd leg 31.2, Kristina showed her versatility and speed helping her team wherever she was needed.
This wraps up a week of three meets for the Hornets. Still undefeated in their dual meets they will travel to Lincoln on Monday!
