Boys Varsity Bowling · Hornet JV Bowlers Lose a Close One to Monroe

The Hornet JV Bowlers battled to the end but victory eluded them and Monroe came out on top 16 – 14 today. The Hornets won the first Baker game 160 -135 but lost the second 194 – 160 to trail 6-4 going into the ‘head to head’ matches. There they won 3 individual games (3 points) and the team game (4 points) by 155 pins. So they needed just 4.5 more points to win the meet! Even though they lost the second game by 118 pins, they acquired 2 points for the ‘series’ total. But they only won one of the individual matches in that second game so fell short of a victory. High games included Hunter Michowski’s blistering 218 and 152, Nick Borgman’s 192 and 185, and Owen Seiler’s 149 followed by 170. Jeff Pryor added a nice 177. Their record now stands at 7-4 for the season with 2 meets remaining. The next meet is at home against Chelsea on Wednesday February 13 at 3:30 pm. (Submitted by Coach Harv Learman)
