Hornets News · Kyle Zagata Named Ice Hockey Head Coach


Saline, MI – Kyle Zagata has been named the new head coach for the Saline Ice Hockey program. Zagata brings with him an extensive coaching background as he has spent the past 12 seasons as an assistant coach at Livonia Stevenson High School. This past season Zagata was named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches Association. He helped lead the Spartans to a 25-3-1 record while being #1 in the Super 10 rankings all season. Zagata has also spent the past 8 years as a head coach in the Michigan Developmental Hockey League, and the past 4 years as an assistant coach with MAHA Team Michigan.

 

Zagata takes over a team that reached the Regional Championship game last season.

There is a strong foundation here, and we are going to work relentlessly to build a program this community will be proud of”
