Hornets News · Saline boys netters dominate at Salem Quad

The boys varsity tennis team is off to a good start with a strong performance on Saturday, winning the Salem Quad.

Saline finished first with 26 points, Walled Lake Northern second with 13, Salem third with 11 and Grand Blanc fourth with 10.

Senior Nathan May was runner up at #1 singles, junior Brendan Morrison was champ at #2 singles, sophomore Reed Recchia was champ at #3 singles, and freshman Mikaal Hamid was champ at #4 singles.

Doubles were nearly a sweep with gold medals going to the #1 doubles team of Kandhan Nadarajah and Amod Telekar, #2 doubles of Kyle Socha and Kendall Cherry, #4 doubles of Gabe Cueto and Brian Zhao, #5 doubles Roan Luchies and Jason Hu, and #6 doubles of Trey Weyment and Mason Miller. Only #3 doubles of Nick Birkle and Joeb Wuerthle did not medal but came up with a big win over Grand Blanc.

Saline faces Novi at Saline on Thursday and visits rival Pioneer on Friday for a quad.
