Game Recap

Wednesday saw our lady laxers season come to a bitter sweet end at the hands of the pioneers from Ann Arbor Pioneer. The Hornets continued their inspired play behind Seniors Maddie Siedlik, Emma Peoples, and Quinn Alexis. Half time saw the Hornets down 5-3, the closest any halftime score had been Pioneer since their first meeting years ago, but could not hold off the pioneers offense. Emma Peoples led all scorers with 3 goals with 2 of those goals coming in the second half. Quinn Alexis ended her high school career adding 2 goals with Emily Hill, Anna Lechard, and Grace Livsey each adding a goal. Maddie Siedlik saved her best game for last getting 16 saves and 3 interceptions.

Game Recap

For the first time since mid April, the Hornets were some what Healthy and it showed on the field with the Hornets picking up the win in their first regional playoff game vs. Plymouth. After 2 quick goals by Plymouth in the first 4 minutes of the game the Hornets put in 3 quick goals after that then never looked back. One of the keys to the win was the Hornet Midfield of Emma Peoples, Abby Morton, and Emily Hill. Peoples, Morton, and Hill combined for 14 draw controls out of 18. The Hornet defense stood tall by creating key turnovers which were instrumental down the stretch. Quinn Alexis was a beast on the offensive end leading all scorers with 5 goals which brings her career total to 139 goals and counting. Not be outdone Emma Peoples put in 2 goals along with Abby Morton, Grace Livsey, and Kaleigh Riggs each adding a goal a piece. Maddie Siedlik fresh off the injured list came up with 7 big saves. The Hornets will be back in action on Wednesday when they have a rematch with Ann Arbor Pioneer. Game time to be determined.
